Google is preparing a strategic plan to boost its core business as a search engine and social network, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing unnamed sources.
The company is looking to boost advertising revenue and revenue from advertising partnerships with media outlets, as well as increase revenue from Google Search, the article said.
Google would also consider merging its YouTube and YouTube Music channels, which it acquired in 2012.
The strategy would likely focus on Google Search and Google Maps, the Journal said.
The plan is expected to be final by the end of 2017.
